First off: a welcome it’s great to be able to be with you today
“The single most important decision you make is where you live.
It drives your business opportunities, relationships, food and water supply, politics, activities, and day-to-day quality of life.” Naval
LawTube
- I started watching lawyers on YouTube about a year or more ago.
- The Rittenhouse trial made a mark on the industry…with Rekeita law bringing on different lawyers onto the feed to discuss cases in real time
- Now we have 100’s of lawyers commenting on cases it seems, and there’s drama.
- LegalBytes booted two attorneys who were in the courthouse from her channel…which was odd. She didn’t feel that the behavior was professional(this is what I got out of her video).
- Before the drama, there was at least one article written about lawtube. Rekeita immediately tweeted get him off the list. Why?
Rekeita says that he isn’t part of anything. He was talking about law and other internet stuff years before there was any sort of group, and he doesn’t want to sign on to any sort of rules or anything…he is his own man.
How is that relevant to the Deerwood Realty Livestream?
- What if there was a RealtyTube? Would I be a part of it? Probably not. Why? Three reasons
- I don’t seem to fit into the box that is the typical real estate agent.
- I don’t want to shill for things I don’t believe in. When you look at how to make it in real estate news and information, you are likely going to have to be sponsored by companies that you would never use in your own business. This warps the perception of many agents who might watch you and I think that’s wrong. I don’t want good agents getting caught up in bad products because they think I use them.
- The news we consume is somewhat trivial…and I’ve tried to point that out. If you need to buy a house, you need to buy a house. It has nothing to do with the market or anything else. You have a product to buy. Same thing with listing a house. You need to list a home at a price where it will sell, but no newspaper or website is going to replace what I or someone skilled would otherwise bring to the table. So we read all real estate related news with skepticism…understanding that if we need to buy or need to sell, that takes priority over real estate related news of the day.
Home showing reports
Perfect house for young buyer…just can’t make the decision
- First time out
- Unsure about financing
- Can’t be that easy, can it?
The terrible house
- House purchased earlier this year for 90k
- Nothing done to it, asking price now $160,000
- Is some agent or someone really that dumb to allow their buyer to offer on a house in this situation?
The house I hyped to buyers
- Buyers went to see a house, it wasn’t a fit
- Exact same curb appeal style house came up, told buyers about it
- Buyers excited to go see it
- When I go to schedule showing, agent says no
- I ask why?
- No show over the Memorial Day holiday(but I had to ask)
- Make a better effort
