Welcome! We started the show tonight discussing something I found pretty perplexing…a new refrigerator purchase. Seems like the reviews for refrigerators are TERRIBLE! In fact, after reading them, I no longer want to buy a new refrigerator, rather, I will just fix mine as long as it doesn’t more than a new one.
There was a lot of refrigerator talk, to be honest. We read reviews, looked at pricing…it was quite the deep dive.
We moved on to a showing report for two houses I showed this evening. Both had issues, there will be no offers forthcoming.
We then pivoted to Twitter and some great tweets.
Is the real estate market headed for disaster based on new construction units currently scheduled to head to market?

A response to a professional economists opinion on a housing correction and household balance sheets.
The horrid concept of Air BNB and apartment rentals….
We moved on to two articles, the first one,
What does today’s home buyer want? Apparently a large backyard? Based on Zillow listing descriptions? Seems like a suspect metric, but whatever. I can see buyers looking for a big backyard…ok.
The second things buyers apparently wanted based on Zillow listings was a kitchen island? Seriously. Apparently buyers all wanted kitchen islands.
The last thing buyers tend to want is not open floor plans, rather, small intimate spaces to zoom or do homework. I have no idea about that…many houses in St. Louis are not open floor plans so it’s not all that unusual.
Lastly, we looked at an article about how to find a good real estate agent to sell your house. Terrible advice. I disagreed completely. The most important thing is chemistry with your agent. IF you don’t have that, you aren’t going to have a good experience. Not sure if the person who wrote the article has actually been a real estate agent.
