Intro: 3 Stories….I think the best one is last
Story 1. HOA is Suing Couple over Solar Panels
a. The HOA says that solar panels are allowed, but not on the front of the house
b. A new law was signed that the representative says strengthens the home owners right to have solar panels….but there is no text accompanying the article. And, this HOA does allow solar panels on the back of the house
c. Rep is quoted…Didech added, “We want people like the Basslers to feel welcome in Illinois.” ? What does that have to do with anything? Is there a time when “people like the Basslers” should not feel welcome in a state in which they live?
d. The installer is quoted…“There was a very similar fight with satellite dishes and things like that and eventually, you know, laws were passed that allowed people to put satellite dishes and things like that on their roofs because they wanted them and it’s the same thing with solar panels now,” ….. Is anyone arguing that they cannot have solar panels on the back of their house?
Seems like an odd story.
1. Solar panels are allowed on the roof, just not the front
2. Representative who sponsored a new bill says he wants a family to feel welcome in Illinois…what is the substance of the bill he got passed?
3. Installer is quoted about satellite dishes….which are unattractive, and originally huge….but what does that have to do with the HOA suing over solar panels on the front of a house?
Based on the story, who is right? We’ve seen in Colorado where they have opened up the laws to include any type of sign. Is the same thing going to happen here?
What should the Basslers have done? Should they have asked for permission from the HOA when they were considering getting panels installed, or just barge ahead and leave whatever consequences that may happen up to legal interpretation.
I have no interest in governing the use of solar panels. I REALLY like the Tesla Solar Roof panels…..and I do wonder if those were installed if there would be an issue with the HOA.
Story 2 Drunk Franklin County Man Breaks into neighbors home and throws hot food at a neighbor.
1. Really?
2. This is not the neighborly thing to do
3. Stories of drunk neighbors trying to enter the wrong apartment/condo …new twist with food throwing
Story 3 Missing dog found in neighbor apartment!
1. So you’re thinking that the neighbor STOLE the dog?
It wasn’t that…a dog walker put the dog in the wrong apartment!
