Thoughts:
1. Personality sells homes. You figure that out in real estate after a while…and you are a walking billboard.
a. You are marketing everything about you.
b. You are marketing that you want to be someone other people want to be around.
c. You are marketing that you can do any deal that comes your way.
2. If you can tap into this, if you can show other agents that they have the ability to put forth a personality, or in this case, let the Serhant. Brand help you, that is very powerful
3. Contrast the Serhant. Website with Corcoran or Compass or Keller Williams. You immediately see the personality change. These companies are all doing the same thing, selling real estate, but only one has a website filled with personality.
4. Why wouldn’t it be obvious that if personality sells homes, it would also allow for you to be able to recruit better? After all, once you get past the training, tech, and leads, what are you left with? Commission splits? That’s pretty boring. The opportunity to be on a television show or podcast? That provides a lot of appeal to not just real estate agents, but clients who might want to be featured in one of those shows or podcasts
5. What about the ability to have property listing videos that are professionally done and look better than 90 percent of all the listing videos you’ve ever seen? Paid for by the brokerage, or at a significant discount? That’s huge.
6. It’s not difficult to see why a real estate agent would choose Serhant. over some of the more established players. The brand has a perception of young and hip. Gary Keller at Keller Williams doesn’t have that same appeal. No one really does right now.
7. Is Deerwood Realty set up like Serhant? No. But it’s not because I wouldn’t. I’m not sure how that style of marketing would play out in St. Louis. I also don’t have the exposure that Serhant does, and I’m not sure I would want to leverage my talents into recruiting agents. I have Deerwood Realty set up the way I want it. I could always use new clients, new agents, but it’s always going to be a brokerage focused around me. We currently offer free videos for any listings we do, so that’s not unusual.
8. How do you compete with Serhant.? I think the best way would be to put your personality out there…but I know that in a corporate environment, it’s easy to miss. It’s easy to become complacent, and it’s easy to get stale. At one time or another, Keller Williams, Corcoran, etc. all had that new brokerage shine. It will be interesting to see if Serhant can keep it going.
