Intro : A day in the life story and one with exotic pets
1. Got a call today about a lost cat. The owner said that it might be in my house listed for sale.
What did I do? I dropped what I was doing and took a look inside the house that hasn’t been open since at least Friday of last week.
Why?
a. I don’t know…I feel bad when other people are upset. I would like to think that someone would be nice to me in my time of need.
This should take about 15 minutes, what happened
1. There was a train that blocked me from getting to the house
2. A car pulled out in front of me on my way to the house
3. An elementary school was getting out and so the parents wouldn’t let me in the neighborhood
4. I had to use a hidden key to get into the house because I didn’t want the supra on the door
5. There was no cat
6. I called the cat owner and told her that there was no cat. She said that the cat might be hiding in the house….but it isn’t….that’s optimistic thinking on the part of the cat owner.
7. When I tried to get out of the neighborhood the parents again wouldn’t let me out….and when I finally did get out there was a van that was nice enough to stop so I could turn.
8. hour gone.
Thoughts questions on the serval story
1. Can you imagine being in your bed and the next minute there is a 30 pound not a cat, a serval looking at you?
2. Exotic pet laws around the country are not making a lot of sense to me. A serval is legal in South Carolina but not in Atlanta. What is this about?
3. You have a domesticated animal….it has been declawed…and you are going to send it to a sanctuary rather than somewhere where the owner thinks it will live a better life?
4. Are exotic pets worth the trouble at the end of the day?
5. I just feel bad for the owner, the neighbor who had the serval enter her home, and everyone involved with this situation. Seems like a no win for anyone…maybe the population because the declawed serval is no longer menacing neighborhoods? But really.
