What happens when a dead whale washes up onto the shore and it’s up to your homeowner’s association to remove it?

Thoughts
1. We hammer HOA’s when there is overreach. But we should also celebrate the things that HOA’s have to deal with from time to time.
2. How much is it going to cost to remove the whale?
3. If the animal welfare group was so concerned about it getting moved, why did they let it sit to rot for two weeks.
4. You need permits to get rid of a whale that’s already dead?
5. How is it determined who owns the dead whale? Is the dead whale in a common area of the beach or is it someone’s property? I don’t live near a beach so I have no idea.
6. This is one of those things you never think of when searching for a property to purchase on the beachfront. The less than timely removal of a whale carcass by the HOA. Pretty amazing isn’t it?
