Is a pig a pet or livestock, and does it depend on the pig?

Thoughts/questions:
1. Why is the HOA involved in looking after a pet pig? Does it really bring the value of the neighborhood down? Does the pig make noises like a barking dog would? It just seems like a stretch on the part of the HOA.
2. Does any reasonable person think that a pot-bellied pig would be classified as livestock? I mean, maybe if you are breeding them, maybe…but even then, it’s a stretch.
3. How did this HOA filing go? Was everyone on board with this plan to go after the owners of the pot bellied pig? Were they given proper legal representation by their attorney? This is going to cost the HOA money…money that could have been used to harass other members of the HOA for the wrong flag or a sign that is not the right size.
4. “The HOA also claimed that the violation of keeping livestock on the property has caused and will continue to cause irreparable harm, damages and expenses to the HOA and its members.” Explain this one to me. How is keeping a pet pig going to cause irreparable harm, damages and expenses to the HOA and its members? By causing the pig owner to sue you in court?
5. “In their federal suit, the couple alleges that they are being discriminated against because housing rules were amended after the defendants learned of Katherine Price’s nation of origin.” That will be interesting….what other housing rules were amended and what were the amendments?
6. From the outside…this seems a bit petty. I mean, if the pig was attacking people and being generally unruly…I could see reasons for the HOA to get involved. But in this case, there doesn’t appear to be an issue with the pig attacking others.
7. It’s kind of a strange argument to say that because the pig does the same things that other pets do, it’s a pet. For example, if you had a horse, and it acted like a pet, could you keep it? This ruling gets weird if you take it out to it’s furthest extent. If you built big doors and let a rhinoceros roam your home…does the ruling still stand? I just wanted to say rhinoceros.
