We’ve had lots of stories where neighbor kills your dog…but what happens when you kill the dog out of safety precaution for their well-being?
Thoughts:
1. So, here we have a story, seen many times. The neighbor, in this case, tries to poison two dogs. He is charged. Now, that doesn’t always happen. In this case the dogs were in the owners yard, and there was no trespassing by the dogs.
2. Dogs can be an issue when trying to sell your home.
a. If your dog is outside barking all the time, it tends to annoy people. When I’ve shown houses to buyers, if the neighbor has a dog out….and it’s super aggressive or annoying, that is a reason not to buy a house. It’s also a reason to take multiple visits to the house before you buy it just in case you miss the animal during a showing.
b. I love animals, all of them. However, when you are showing your house to potential buyers, it would be good if the dogs weren’t at the house, or, in a kennel. Some people are allergic to dogs, and some people are downright afraid of them.
3. What’s that? Neighbor shoots dog that neighbor owns and it’s a good thing? Apparently that is what happened in Oregon! The dog was attacking it’s owner, the neighbor shot the dog and the dog ended up being euthanized because it was so aggressive. What do you think of your neighbor after that? Buy him a beer?
