good afternoon so I know that home buying is is stressful believe it or not home selling is is stressful as well um we'll go over some of the stuff but I I just want to commend redin for their ability to interject themselves into the popular culture um as it relates to real estate there's no other there's no other organization that's as large as redin that actually does research that anybody reads um especially the franchise brokerages I mean they're just so far ahead of everyone else it's ridiculous and um I did want to say that in in starting so let's take a look at this article I I thought this was interesting it says 59% of Home Buyers Say purchasing a house is more stressful than dating that's hard for me to believe having [Music] dated I didn't get married until I was in my 40s um so it says like let's let's just have some fun with this what are we to make of this it says nearly two-thirds of recent us home buyers think purchasing a house is more stressful than dating okay so then let's get into the thing it says well the sherff recent home buyers who said buying a home is more stressful than buying a car 66% that's kind of interesting I would say I would definitely agree with that would you um potty training a child not not big on that one dating 59% getting into college it's very interesting to me it getting into college was not I was not that exciting and here's why like if they say they don't want you then then why would you want to go there it's prettyy simple to me it was like well if I apply to this institution and they don't and they turn me down then then they don't want me it's not it's not anything more than that and you say well John what if you got you know what if you were applying to Harvard and uh you know Colombia what then well I wouldn't I wouldn't be hire I wouldn't be applying to those schools which isn't who I am so I don't know I I I I'm a little bit and it says planning a wedding I thought honestly one of the more eye openening experiences in my life was watching someone plan a wedding I mean that that is stressful that is stressful I I think I based on what I I'm I have to say I think planning a wedding is more stressful than buying a house based on what I saw um finding a new job finding a new job is always stressful and getting a divorce hm it's weird so it says of the life events respondents had to choose from there were just two respondents found more nerve-wracking than buying a home 57% said divorce is more stressful and 56 said finding a new job is more stressful so I was like okay interesting and says this this is where it starts to get dicey I don't I don't I don't like pitting different Generations against each other they also have race involved it it gets a little a little toddy but let's see it says Millennials and gen xers were more likely to emphasize the anxieties of home buying with nearly 2third saying it's more stressful than dating Baby Boomers and Jen zers were most likely to say dating is more stressful isn't that interesting I mean baby boomers think that dating is more stressful than buying a house I'm not a baby boomer I'm Generation X

um I think this is It's a wild thing so it says older Generations were more were most likely to emphasize the stress of divorce 67% of baby boomers said divorce is more stressful than home buying compared with 61% and 48% of gener Generation Z respondents baby boomers are more likely to have experienced divorce than say Generation Z simply because they're older and that's kind of one of the things that that I do think is is Fair depending on where you are in your life um you know it it kind of matters right I mean you're not you're not worried about divorce if you haven't ever been married if you if you've not been on the dating scene you're probably not buying a house yet um but a lot of these like you know if you're a boomer and you didn't go to college getting into college wasn't a big deal for you so I think it just depends depends on you know you the person now are there things you can do uh that can reduce anxiety when purchasing a home when purchasing a home yes and one of the things that I mean my whole my whole brokerage is set up around uh certain things that we do to help you help keep you from getting something like buyus remorse I think there's definitely a way to do that so there's less stress so selling a home um can also be very very stressful um I had a friend a good friend of mine who uh we were selling his house and he ghosted me for like 3 days after after um after a certain point in the deal and he wasn't mad he just he was so overwhelmed by just selling a house that he'd had for 20 years uh it just it just hit him in a weird way uh I got an attorney client that uh she said that uh that it was far more stressful than than a lawsuit um but you know if I you know I find any sort of legal thing stressful myself so I don't I it's kind of weird I don't really relate as well um you know and this was taken during a time before uh some some issues Rose uh up recently in um parts of the world I would think going to war would be much more stressful than any of this and it's funny to me how insulated we seem to be from the realities of of of where we are in the world right now um but I just just from my own experience working with people I think that as a real estate agent I'm I'm not a therapist by any stretch of imagination but I do have to help um I do help have to help with the emotional aspect of buying or selling a home there's definitely a component there um even when you get like Engineers who are not overly emotional their spouses can be so then you're dealing with a whole different set of issues um it's it's it's a weird deal but kudos to redin for uh spending money on uh this like you know and uh cuos to them for for advertising in a way that uh that that gets picked up in the news um and if you have you tell me like what's more stressful than uh buying a house you put it in the comments let's have some fun with this it's not we don't have to be real heavy about it um I'm kind of curious as to what you guys think and uh with that I think I'm going to head on out thank you for watching thank you for listening and I'll catch you on the next one
